Anti-Spam scanning

Email passing through GML servers is automatically scanned for spam, flagging it for easy dispatch into a separate 'spam' folder where it can be checked and deleted at your leisure.

GML currently uses SpamAssassin with scanning software MailScanner. These tools are continually updated to ensure they stay one step ahead of the hazards and inconveniences present on the internet.

Automatic operation

In order to prevent a wanted email accidentally being deleted as spam, all filtered emails will still be delivered but with a clear flag in the subject line of the mail, for easy identification.

After checking for a few days that the spam filtering is only picking out true unwanted emails, it is possible to go a step further and have the spam automatically dropped into a separate 'spam' folder, and in this way it will never turn up in your inbox. This folder can still be checked whenever required to verify only unwanted emails are being detected, of course.
